Most people in NV just use a metal detector, or just a creek and gold leaf to go. You will see, involved mining in NV. And I mean everything. Simply start playing the old gold-mining and search. Every place is sufficient. A lot of nothing (other than wild), but the vast space in NV. Be careful when walking in the desert. There are many old shafts and portals that are not marked. You really need to watch where you walk. In the portals of old age, to prepare a large number of bats. The only place where I know that you dig NV for something with a kind of "attraction" for opals. There are also hot springs and the right of the fishery (in terms of ,:)). anyway NV

And if you are looking for employment, Newmont and Barrick are both minors required. You can become a real live-mining services. Well paid. ;)
I do not know where you can do, but there are still a lot of gold in Nevada. You know, Nevada is the largest gold-producing state in the nation. It is the second in the world after South Africa.
For entertainment, you can see, the hand of faith - the largest gold nugget on display in the known world, in the middle of the Golden Nugget.
